So after travelling eastwards via the mt scopus tunnel (methinks under some arab towns) we emerge in the bare, sparse & unpopulated hills no more than 10mins east of jerusalem. Another 10mins later as we drive past the exit to ramalah (note use of the word 'past') we approach the small turn-off to Alon. This is such beautiful & picturesque scenery - check the photos from the girls cameras on the picasa website. We arrive after a few k's at Eretz Bereishis. 1 building with a souvenir store. They chuck us all on some camels and after a few hundred metres arrive at 'Avrahams Tent' - very very cute, and very well presented with clean and modern amenities. 'Avraham' told us the kids version of his life and then gave us dried fruit and water in the tent. After that we all went outside to make dough and bake pita on the up-turned bowl. We were there with the Green family and had a very very good time. Wouldn't mind going back... Finished off the day with dinner at Burgers Bar - as previously mentioned: yum & wow.
Tomorrow off to the shuq/mea shearim to buy lulav&esrog at the succot markets - can't wait... Been looking forward to doing this for many years.
